Clackamas County Clerk Candidate, Catherine McMullen, Lands Union Endorsements
West Linn, OR.– Elections administrator Catherine McMullen has been endorsed by AFSCME Local 350, IBEW Local 48 Electrical Workers and NW Oregon Labor Council AFL-CIO unions in her bid to become Clackamas County’s next Clerk.
McMullen is currently the only candidate registered to run in the county clerk race.
A former librarian, McMullen changed careers from “books to ballots” in 2015 because she believes that county clerks have, “A critical role in protecting democracy and making local government accessible.”
Her comment on receiving union endorsement highlights her platform of inclusion, equity, and access.
“Unions represent and protect the same people I will fight to ensure have access to the ballot box, public records, and civic involvement. Their support means that we are working together and as an active member of AFSCME Local 88 I take that seriously.”
McMullen is a long-time Oregonian, certified elections administrator, and has received awards for elections integrity as well as leading ground breaking initiatives in voter education and outreach.
