What we now call the land that the many cities and jurisdictions within Clackamas County sit on are the ancestral and traditional homelands of the the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde (twenty seven distinct indigenous tribes) including Clackamas, Cascades, and Tumwater bands of Chinooks, as well as the Tualatin and Pudding River bands of Kalapuya and the Northern Molalla people.

You can look up and learn more about the native land that you are on at Native Land Map.
