Write a Letter

One of the ways to help Catherine McMullen’s campaign for County Clerk is by writing an opinion letter to one of our local newspapers. Pamplin Media and The Oregonian are two prominent publications accepting letters to the editor. These letters expand Catherine’s name recognition and express support for her positions and views that you find important. 

We have prepared some brief letter templates to get you started. You are free to use or modify our templates to ensure the message expresses your personal views. Our templates are all under 200 words.

Pamplin Media Group welcomes letters to the editor and political letters. You can find a full set of their guidelines here, but two key elements are:

The length limit for political letters is 200 words.

Pamplin needs a sentence or two of biographical information about the writer. Guest viewpoints should be from a person, not an organization though a person can be identified as speaking on behalf of a group.

Pamplin Media Group publishes 24 local papers like The Clackamas Review, The West Linn Tidings, The Wilsonville Spokesman, and more. Once you have prepared a letter, you can submit it online by providing some required information and attaching the file with your letter.

Guidelines for Letters to the Editor

Please email letters of no more than 250 words to letters@oregonian.com, or mail them to this address:

Letters to the editor, The Oregonian/OregonLive, 1500 S.W. First Ave., Suite 400, Portland, OR 97201.

Please include your full address and daytime phone number for verification purposes. Letters are published with the author’s name and city of residence. Letters may be edited for length, accuracy, and clarity.
